How to Clean a Silicone Pipe or Bong
Here’s how to clean a silicone pipe, bong or dab container with Green Piece, an alcohol-free (no isopropyl) cleaner with a fresh orange scent. It’s reusable, so you pour it back in the bottle when you’re done.
Made with orange peel extract in a citrus and mineral-based formula. Non-toxic, environmentally friendly and alcohol-free (no isopropyl).
What you need
- Green Piece cleaner
- Warm water
- Nylon brushes (tube and mini brushes)
- Silicone plugs, or a sealable bag or jar for small parts
- A funnel to pour the cleaner back
Steps
- Take apart any removable parts, including glass bowls or inserts.
- Rinse with warm water.
- Place the silicone parts in a bag or container, or fill the piece directly after plugging openings.
- Add enough Green Piece to cover the residue.
- Soak, squeezing or flexing the silicone a few times to loosen buildup.
- Brush any creases with a soft nylon brush.
- Pour the used Green Piece back into the bottle through a funnel. The liquid is reusable, so keep it for the next clean.
- Rinse thoroughly with warm water until no cleaner or loosened residue remains, then let the piece air dry.
Soak time
Usually a few minutes; up to about 8 hours for heavy buildup.
Rinse
Rinse with warm water until no cleaner or loosened residue remains. A drop of dish soap is optional. Let the piece air dry fully before using it.
Tips
- Avoid metal brushes or sharp tools on silicone so you don’t scratch or cut it.
- Flexing the silicone during the soak helps lift residue from folds.
