How to Clean a Dab Rig
Here’s how to clean a glass dab rig with Green Piece, an alcohol-free (no isopropyl) cleaner with a fresh orange scent. It’s reusable, so you pour it back in the bottle when you’re done.

What you need
- Green Piece cleaner
- Warm water
- Nylon brushes (tube and mini brushes)
- Silicone plugs, or a sealable bag or jar for small parts
- A funnel to pour the cleaner back
Steps
- Remove the banger or nail (clean it separately; see the quartz banger guide) and empty the water.
- Rinse the rig with warm water.
- Plug the joint and mouthpiece.
- Pour in enough Green Piece to cover stained areas, including any recycler arms.
- Soak, rocking the rig gently so the liquid moves through every chamber.
- Brush the joint and mouthpiece with a mini brush.
- Pour the used Green Piece back into the bottle through a funnel. The liquid is reusable, so keep it for the next clean.
- Rinse thoroughly with warm water until no cleaner or loosened residue remains, then let the piece air dry.
Soak time
A few minutes for light residue; up to about 8 hours for heavy reclaim buildup.

Rinse with warm water until no cleaner or loosened residue remains. A drop of dish soap is optional. Let the piece air dry fully before using it.
Tips
- Recyclers benefit from slow rocking so the liquid travels through each arm.
- Handle thin glass gently during the soak.
