–  The filter’s duration of use can vary drastically, depending on the source of the water. If the water that is being made still tastes fresh, the filter is still good for use. There is no need to switch the filter, even if it is over a month old. Keep using the filter until your water no longer tastes fresh.

– The filter may not last as long if it is super hard water bad quality water. (Florida tap water is an example of this) Again, use the filter until it dispenses fresh-tasting water. Discard once the water starts to taste foul and switch to a new filter.

–  Clean your water distiller regularly. Use Citric acid and water to melt off all of the toxins and hard water. Clean well and rinse the citric acid out very well afterward. Keeping your distiller clean will help with the life of the filters and will keep your distiller running properly. You can use hot water with citric acid to have it clean quicker. The filter contents are biodegradable and can be composted.
