How to Clean an Acrylic Bong
Here’s how to clean an acrylic or plastic bong with Green Piece, an alcohol-free (no isopropyl) cleaner with a fresh orange scent. It’s reusable, so you pour it back in the bottle when you’re done.
Made with fruit extracts and minerals only. Non-toxic, environmentally friendly and alcohol-free (no isopropyl).
What you need
- Green Piece cleaner
- Warm water
- Nylon brushes (tube and mini brushes)
- Silicone plugs, or a sealable bag or jar for small parts
- A funnel to pour the cleaner back
Steps
- Empty the water and remove the downstem and bowl.
- Rinse with warm (not hot) water.
- Plug the openings.
- Pour in enough Green Piece to cover the stained areas.
- Soak, swirling gently now and then.
- Clean with a soft nylon brush or cloth only.
- Pour the used Green Piece back into the bottle through a funnel. The liquid is reusable, so keep it for the next clean.
- Rinse thoroughly with warm water until no cleaner or loosened residue remains, then let the piece air dry.
Soak time
A few minutes for light stains; up to about 8 hours for heavy buildup.
Rinse
Rinse with warm water until no cleaner or loosened residue remains. A drop of dish soap is optional. Let the piece air dry fully before using it.
Tips
- Use soft brushes only; acrylic scratches more easily than glass.
- Skip very hot water, which can warp some plastics.
